Thanksgiving Community Dinner
Our Thanksgiving Community Dinner continues to be one of our favorite ways to serve our community! Together, we prepared and served Thanksgiving meals to more than 750 people through dine-in, pickup and delivery. From cooking and packing meals to greeting guests, serving tables and delivering dinners throughout the community, it took so many people working together to make the day happen.
Thank you to every person who donated, cooked, served, delivered, cleaned up or helped behind the scenes. More than anything, we’re thankful for the opportunity to open our doors, share a meal with our neighbors and make sure there was a place at the table for everyone.
Back to School Block Party
What an incredible afternoon at our Back to School Block Party! Families from throughout our community joined us for a day packed with fun, including a giant inflatable obstacle course, dunk tank, axe throwing, crafts, bubbles, science activities, giant games, a bake walk and more. We shared a free BBQ dinner, gave away free haircut vouchers to the first 50 kids and held drawings for gift cards, along with special teacher giveaways. One of our favorite parts was our Community Prayer Wall, where families could share prayer requests and things they were thankful for.
A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, served food, ran activities and helped make the day possible. We loved getting to spend the afternoon with so many families and send our students and teachers into a new school year knowing their community is cheering them on!
Fairview Summer Games
On the Wednesday nights in July, we had themed Summer Games to close out the summer.
Dumpster & Fire
On June 22nd, we rented two dumpsters and had a truck from Love Columbia available to the community to discard or donate unneeded items. Lunch was provided to community members and the volunteers who worked the event.
