Frequently asked questions about attending our Columbia, MO church
What is your Sunday worship gathering like?
Our worship gathering is about an hour and fifteen minutes in length. We usually begin with songs and prayer. This is followed by an encouraging, hope-filled message about Jesus. We celebrate Communion each Sunday with bread and juice, which represent Jesus’ body and blood. A financial offering is also taken up from our members, but you have no obligation to give. Join us in person or online this Sunday at 4:00 pm!
What should I wear when visiting a new church?
Each Sunday, you’ll see people wearing a wide range of attire from jeans to dress clothes. We want everyone to feel at home. At Fairview, we care more about your heart than your clothes.
What should I bring when attending a church service for the first time?
The main thing we’d love for you to bring is an open heart. Most Bible texts will appear on-screen. However, if you have a Bible, we’d love for you to bring it. If you don’t have a Bible, we will help provide you with one. Many of us also use a free Bible app that can be downloaded here.
What opportunities do you have for children at Fairview Church of Christ?
The children and youth of Fairview are a high priority, so you can be at ease knowing they are in a safe and loving environment. There are also classes for children of all ages in which children learn the Word of God and experience His love through music, games, puppets, and Bible lessons. Our junior high and senior high school students enjoy time with their friends at The Well Student Ministry. The teens will then join their parents and the rest of the adults in the main sanctuary for the morning worship service.
